Assessment Only (AO) Route to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) for Secondary Teachers

We have recently changed our AO guidance, please read the information carefully and contact the office for more information.

The Assessment Only (AO) route does not require a period of training and is ideal for experienced graduate teachers from the UK or overseas who are currently teaching in a school but do not have QTS. This route is aimed at experienced graduate teachers who have taught in at least two schools or colleges. The minimum length of time that teachers have to have taught for is three years (or part time equivalent thereof). The teachers have to have taught over at least two consecutive age ranges within the 11-16 or 14-19 age range.

Please be aware that we are only offering this route to Partnership Schools. We also only offer the secondary AO route.

If you think you are suitable for the AO route and would like to apply please read all of the information on this page carefully and then complete the Assessment Only Criteria Questionnaire which can be found here.
